challENG is a technical engineering provider such as Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil construction works, Building construction works, IT Infrastructure Design (Networks), Quality Assurance , Project supervision, Project Management, Planning Control, QS Services, interior Designs and 3D impressions, Procurement, Contracting and Contract Management, Due Diligence, Site Analysis.


A freelance based project. I am contracted to create User Experience for ChallENG. Group (PVT) Limited.


sub-disciplines including: environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, control engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, construction surveying.

Overview

As a full-service engineering consultancy company, challENG. Group (PVT) Limited essentially assists clients from the very outset to the completion of their projects. We become partners with our clients in understanding the five basic functions of:

  • Defining and establishing the scope of the construction projects
  • Pre-construction project planning including preparation and scheduling of the projects, phasing plans, budgeting/cost-modeling, subcontractor qualification etc.
  • On-site execution of the project includes scheduling, quality control, safety management, subcontractor management, status reporting and change management
  • Monitoring and controlling the project
  • Closing of the project related to the post construction activities

Inspired by challenges or offering solutions to engineering challenge, challENG wants to be a market leader in the Infrastructure consultancy and construction industry building long lasting relationships with our clients, suppliers and sub-contractors, challeng focuses at offering detailed designs, schedule of works and tailored engineering services at very competitive rates.

What I Did

Having a dynamic procedure, separated into a couple of various bigger stages is key to keep track from project to project. It is the practice for each stage that ought to be obliged each task. My UX procedure was as follows.

Understanding Business goals and Users needs

To make sure the user experience is aligned with business goals. First, identify business goals; then identify usability goals that allow to develop the UX vision and strategy. Business goals describe company objectives and direction.

Research & Analysis

In order to understand the user and business goals to ensure and to provide a centric user design, service to the on the platform it is important It is important to conduct a survey and interview questions. I conducted a research to find out more information.


Open end questions were used a strategy to create that freedom and remove restriction to offer insights and detailed aspects of the project.

Silence as a social cue is also an important tool to allow the interview to express themselves about the business and etc. The location also is a great consideration as casual comfortable place will offer a more relaxed atmosphere to get more realistic answers to the interview or/and Questionnaire. Generally, 45 to 60 minutes is ideal. Is ideal and if there is a requirement for further information it is best to schedule another interview. All research will be conducted with anonymity to ensure privacy and confidentiality.

Planning and Project Management

Planning user (UX) projects is a balancing act of getting the right amount of user input within the constraints of the project, ceros. To carry out the required tasks i utilised a project management tool called Asana. Asana is the best way for teams to track their work and get results. From tasks and projects to conversations and notifications.

User scenarios

User flows demonstrate how business goals will be achieved in design, and provided the most accurate view of scope and effort. Also known as a blueprint, journey, narrative or map, a user flow helps to as a deliverable that demonstrated the step-by-step elements required to allow the user and the business to accomplish their objectives. User flows detail the pages and elements required to implement the more strategic user journey and business objectives I already defined.

Personas

After figuring out who the projects audience is I normally build the personas, This is similar to shaping a piece of clay. By doing this I am creating a clear image of who the user in our audience is. The personas looked something like this:

Rapid Prototyping

To quickly fabricate the a scale model and give a rough plot of the product rapid prototyping technique is a very effective method to physically plot the idea of the project.
